Girl Uncovers Mom’s Sick Midnight Secret, Takes Matters Into Her Own Hands

After having been in an upstairs bedroom for hours, it was after midnight when a Massachusetts girl came down to the family room, not expecting anyone to be awake at that hour. To the 12-year-old’s complete shock, her mom was there with three friends as she walked in on a horrific scene that she may never fully recover from.
The pre-teen had been up playing video games in the closed off bedroom with two or three friends when she decided to finally venture out of the room and get a drink from the kitchen. Her mother had never bothered to check on the kids the entire time they were closed off from the rest of the house and assumed she was safe to go about her midnight routine with three other women. Had the child come down seconds later, it would have been too late for two of the women in the room.

According to KMOV, Springfield Police officers were called to the home on Ambrose Street at 12:24 a.m. by the 12-year-old girl who had a problem to report. She found her mother and three of her female friends unresponsive, two of which had no pulse. Before this point, the women had left the kids home alone in the bedroom, while they went to buy heroin. Not long after returning, every adult there overdosed on the drug before they were found by one woman’s daughter by chance.
The four addicts were surrounded in drug paraphernalia when officers and medics arrived on the scene and were able to revive all the women with Narcan — including the two who didn’t have a pulse when found. Had the child not come downstairs when she did, it’s very likely that the two who were without a pulse would have died and possibly the two other women as well. Although this mother and her friends made it out alive, the 12-year-old and other children in the house will have to live with the image of these four on the floor, who looked like they were dead when two of them technically were.
The addicts were transported to hospitals in the area and relatives came to get the kids. The women are expected to be charged at the conclusion of the investigation into this horrendous case, thanks to a kid taking matters into her own hands to protect a mother who didn’t protect her.
It would be nice to believe that this will be a wake-up call for these women, but the reality is, if they don’t take responsibility for their problem and get help, it’s only a matter of time before they’re found dead. Hopefully, it’s not one of their pre-teens who has already been robbed of their innocence after this incident who discovers the final result of what they couldn’t control.
