Teens Pose For Prom Photo, Then They See What Girl’s Boyfriend Is Doing

In Weymouth, Massachusettes, a group of high school students got together to pose for a picture before the big dance, all dressed in their prom formals and with their dates. However, while each girl looked stunning in red, all the attention was on what one girl’s boyfriend was doing.
As the students stood in a row, with all the girls in front and their dates snuggled up behind them, Allie Hardie’s stance was much different. Taking this picture was something she was trying to avoid, as she didn’t want to go to this milestone event since the only guy she’d like to take couldn’t be there.

Allie’s Marine boyfriend, Jake Balzano, insisted she not miss out of the dance, despite him not being able to go with her for good reason. Deciding to attend in the end, she came up with a creative way to take him as her “date,”and it left an impression on everyone who saw what she did because of what her boyfriend is busy doing.
Balzano is currently serving our country in Pensacola, Florida, where he’s attending Air Traffic Control school with the Marines. Allie recognizes the importance of what he’s doing and respects his position in our military, making the senior prom not seem so important in comparison. Since there was nobody else she wanted to go with, she brought Balzano along in spirit, by carrying around a 16″x20” framed photo of him.
Everything she would have done with him if he were there in person, she did holding his framed portrait, including posing for the photos, walking the red carpet, and even dancing with it. “In a way I felt like I had the best date,” she said, WFTV reported. “Everyone had a boy behind them. I had a United States Marine in front of me,” Allie explained with pride.
The teens have been dating for two years, one of which has been long-distance since Balzano left for the Marines. Everyone who saw what this girl did to honor him on her big night, was impressed not just by her selfless actions, but his dedication to our country at such a young age. He’s missing out on these events for the bigger picture that he sees for his future, as well as our nation’s. While other teens this couple’s age are focused on where the party is at on any given Friday night, Balzano is preparing to defend our freedom, and his girlfriend proudly stands by her Marine.
