Boy Stuns Cops After He Walks Into Station, Then They See What He’s Holding

Police departments across the country are accustomed to people entering the station daily. However, when a 5-year-old boy walked into the Winslow Township Police Department, they were left absolutely stunned when they saw what the young boy held in his hands.
It isn’t every day that someone wants to go visit a police station. When Tara Evertz’s 5-year-old son, William, expressed interest in visiting the officers at Winslow Township Police Department, she couldn’t stand in his way. However, after she received permission for her son to visit, the officers were absolutely stunned when they saw what William was holding in his hands when he walked into the building.

It all began several months ago when William watched a video on Youtube that showed someone helping another person by donating money. The young boy immediately knew that he wanted to do something similar, so he “just went with it,” according to My Fox 8. It was then he decided that he wanted to purchase a meal for the officers at Winslow Township Police Department.
After saving up his allowance and doing chores for seven long months, the boy was finally ready to undergo his act of kindness. His mother sent an e-mail to the department, explaining what her son had planned, and received permission for him to come in. The excited young boy was taken to the station where he walked inside with Subway sandwiches, snacks, and drinks for the officers.

The officers were absolutely stunned by the young boy’s compassion and shared the wonderful gesture on their Facebook page for the world to see. “Williams’s actions are remarkable for anyone, let alone a 5-year-old,” they wrote. “Winslow Twp PD commends William for his acts of kindness and his parents for raising such a great kid.”
William doesn’t plan on stopping his acts of kindness anytime soon. In fact, he plans on donating clothes, school supplies and toys to a domestic violence shelter, food and supplies to an animal shelter, and even plans on giving $25 to a less fortunate family to help pay for daycare expenses.

“It’s one of those things that restores confidence in humanity. It makes you tear up,” said Detective Sgt. Ray Cogan. “It’s nice to see that you’re still the good guy.”
There aren’t too many children who would sacrifice their time to earn money to later donate it to someone else. It’s a remarkable characteristic to have. These parents should be proud of the nice young man they are raising and should know that their son truly is a blessing, not only to them but everyone the young boy influences.
