Trying to travel with a fussy baby is an exhausting experience for any new parent, to say the least; but annoyed looks and rude comments from fellow passengers can make the ride nearly unbearable.
When Rebekka Garvison boarded a 5:30 a.m. flight with her infant daughter, Rylee, to surprise her husband last week, she knew there would be irritated passengers onboard with them.
Finally, after hearing enough moans and sighs from the people around her, Garvison begged a flight attendant to move her over to an area with two vacant seats.
It must have been fate that the flight attendant sat her next to Nyfesha Miller, a kind stranger who ended up wanting to hold Rylee throughout the entire flight.
After the heartwarming experience, Garvison took to Facebook, where she praised people like Miller.
“As soon as she had her, Rylee was looking out the window and stopped crying. When we got in the air she fell right asleep and slept in her lap the whole flight until we got to our gate. She kept saying it wasn’t a problem at all and it was actually a comforting feeling for her. She even carried her off the plane and held her so I could get the stroller and carseat put back together so I wasn’t struggling to try and do it all alone,” she wrote, in part.
Garvison also uploaded a couple of sweet photos of Rylee peacefully sleeping in Miller’s arms.
“Nyfesha Miller, you will never understand how happy this act of kindness has made my family. You could’ve just rolled your eyes and been irritated like everyone else, but you took her and held her the entire flight and let me get some rest and peace of mind. It brought tears to my eyes while I sat there and watched you and Rylee sleeping next to me. I just couldn’t believe how that ended up working out and how caring you were to us. Thank you SO much!!” the grateful mom concluded in her now-viral post.
