Father Out With Son Receives Surprising Note (Photos)

An Ohio father out with his toddler son says an elderly couple paid for his breakfast and wrote him a note reading: "We need more black dads like you."
"I noticed this older couple over in the corner," Kevon Smith, Sr., according to WOIO. "They kept smiling at me and I was looking at my son like -- what is going on?"
After finishing breakfast with his toddler, Kevon Jr., the dad says he found the letter, plus cash for his breakfast, on his windscreen.
"Today your meal is on my wife and me. Enjoy that baby boy as long as God intends," the note continued. "Keep doing what you're doing. The Masons."
While it's not clear what the ethnicity of the elderly couple is, Smith said he was moved by the act.
Not having a father figure growing up, Smith said he understood where the letter was coming from so he appreciated the gesture even more.
"There's a lot of guys I know that aren't taking care of their kids," said Smith. "To show that not all of us are out here being gang bangers, some of us are out here being fathers."
Smith says the incident has inspired him and he will make sure to tell his child about it one day.
"I'm definitely going to make sure I'm paying it forward," he said. "I get blessed. I want to bless someone else."
Others also commended the father.
"I'm so very proud of you Kevon Smith Sr. we do need more men like you im proud to say i was a part of your journey keep up the good work," wrote African-American Brianna Nicole Jackson on reporter Tiffani Tucker's Facebook page.
It's not the first time a note left on a car has warmed hearts, Buzzfeed reports.
One individual felt bad after leaving a "nick" on another driver's bumper so they left a note with their contact details to let them know.
The conversation that took place after put a smile on the faces of many:
"Don't worry about it!," the driver texted back to the grateful and surprised stranger. "I'd rather know there are some honest polite people in the world than to charge you for some little mistake. We all make them! Have a great day and good karma will be coming your way! ... and thanks again for being a great person!"
