It isn’t uncommon for young thugs to target older people for robbery and other crimes. Criminals tend to see older people as helpless, feeble, and totally open to theft and assault, but many of those criminals forget that older people have just as much fire in their souls as the younger generations. Three young would-be thieves learned that the hard way when they tried to rob 77-year-old Winifred Peel. Peel resides in the United Kingdom and the attempted robbery occurred in Wirral.
Peel was attempting to use an ATM to make a withdrawal when three young men came up behind her. The young men were later identified as Florin Geblescu, Piper Dumitru, and Felix Stoica. The first young man pushed up against Peel in an attempt to knock her off balance. The woman recognized the young man from her bank, where she had seen him earlier that day. When she didn’t immediately fall to the ground, the first male spoke to the second male, whom Peel hadn’t yet noticed. She realized she had seen the second male with the first earlier that same day.
One of the young men tried to squeeze past Peel so he could steal money from her account that was still active on the ATM. Peel finally recognized that she was about to be robbed, so she grabbed the second young man around the collar. With all the strength she could muster, she banged the male’s head against the machine to the point he was left bloody and bruised. The thugs were apprehended by authorities a short time later.
