Upset Black Girl Sees Two White Cops, Leaves Them With Something ‘Special’
By Dreamer

In Andover, Massachusetts, a black girl swung by her local convenience store to grab a snack when she saw two white cops right inside and overheard what they were talking about. Exchanging a look with them as she walked by, they continued to stare at her until she found them as she was leaving and left them with something “special.”
Natasha Howell detailed her encounter with police on social media, after what happened in the aisle at the store. She explained that when she walked in, the two white cops were talking with the clerk about the recent tragedy in Dallas. As soon as they saw her come in, their conversation immediately stopped, and she felt as if she was being watched from that point on, presumably because she’s black.

“I went about my business to get what I was looking for, as I turned back up the isle to go pay, the oldest officer was standing at the top of the aisle watching me,” Howell wrote in the post. Leery about what or why he was looking at her and then seemingly cornering her in the aisle, he finally spoke up, which soon transpired into a situation that neither one of them will forget.
As she got closer, the officer asked her how she was doing. “I replied, ‘Okay, and you?'” she explained of their initial conversation that broke the awkward silence, but she wasn’t sure where he was going with it. “He looked at me with a strange look and asked me, ‘How are you really doing?'” a second time, to which she shouted, “I’m tired!”
“His reply was, ‘me too.’ Then he said, ‘I guess it’s not easy being either of us right now is it?'” Howell wrote, then explained that as soon as he said the words, he walked up to her and hugged her. Howell immediately began to cry in his arms at the unexpected, but much-needed embrace.
“I had never seen that man before in my life,” she said. “I have no idea why he was moved to talk to me. What I do know is that he and I shared a moment this morning, that was absolutely beautiful. No judgments, No justifications, just two people sharing a moment.”
A profession or skin color isn’t what makes you a bad person, it’s an individual’s evil actions that do. The officer didn’t reach for his gun when he saw her coming, he extended his arms and wrapped them around her. This cop and Howell came together that afternoon as common people living in a terrifying time, both desiring a safer community to live in.
