Dad Finds Missing Daughter After Searching For Almost 16 Years

This is Dean Harper and his daughter Athena.
Athena went missing over 16 years ago when her mother took her and vanished.
Using social media for good...
With the rise of social media platforms like Facebook, Dean was able to make contact with his long-lost daughter.
This is where the story really gets weird, though...
Turns out, Athena's mom abandoned her.
Athena has been in a foster home since she was in high school.
The foster home actually had Dean's name on file, but never contacted him.
"My heart was pounding like you wouldn't believe. I thought for sure Athena could hear my heart pounding," he said. "And I said, 'My name is Dean Harper... I'm your father.'"
Athena comments on the happy reunion...
"Every piece of the puzzle just went together. It just clicked," she said.
Athena is thrilled to live life with her father and two half brothers she's never met.
Both are feeling super lucky and thankful to have been reunited.
