Mom Mows Down Bald Eagle, Stuns Others By What She Did With Bird’s Body
By Timfly

Robbie Tribbey and her son, Devin, were running around on Sunday when a bald eagle crossed their path to snack on some roadkill. The family couldn’t swerve their vehicle in time. The bird tried to fly away, but instead, it unavoidably collided with the Tribbey’s car. Then came the moment of truth. The struggling symbol of freedom was laying in the street and the mother and son were forced to decide should they stay or should they go.

“First I was scared to death, then I just wanted to cry because that poor bird,” the terrified mother told Fox 9.
For the next three hours, Robbie and Devin stayed roadside, helping the bird stay alive and using blankets as makeshift flags to signal other motorists to stay away. But it didn’t stop there. With love of our country and beaming with patriotic pride, this mother and her son literally went the distance for the injured bald eagle.
After hours on the road, the Tribbeys bundled the bird up, who they aptly named America, and brought the eagle to Wildwoods Rehabilitation Center in nearby Daluth. It wasn’t indicated in reports why the mother and boy waited with the bird on the road so long before seeking help, but Tribbey said they took the bird in when she decided it would be a once in a lifetime experience for her and her son.

The center determined that America’s injuries were extensive enough that the bird’s only hope of recovery was x-rays and specialized attention from the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center. But there was no way to transport the bird there, so the center posted an appeal on Facebook, seeking a volunteer to make the drive to Minneapolis.
That’s when Tribbey came to the bird’s rescue a second time, loading the bird and her boy back into the car, and headed to get help in Minnesota. “In the car, I looked at him and said, ‘How many people do you think are on the road right now with a bald eagle in a box?'” she recalled asking her son in amazement of the opportunity they were in the midst of.
Astonishingly, America made it out of the ordeal with just some bumps and bruises, and with the help she got at the University, she is already regaining strength to stand and eat on her own. “I wanted to give my son a lesson in being kind and doing good,” Robbie said. “I really want to see America released, and I would love to be there when that happens.”
She didn’t just give her boy a lesson in doing good for others. Her actions were also a lesson in contrast to the disrespect others in this country are showing toward our nation’s symbols. While some citizens are stomping on and burning our flag, this mother and her son sacrificed hours, if not days, of their time to breathe life back into America — both figuratively and the actual bird.
