This Couple Is Shocked By Note Left On Their Door After A Cop Saw What They Did At Night

A couple in Westfield, Indiana was getting ready to leave for the day when they noticed a note stuck to their front door, flapping in the breeze. They read it in shock, realizing that it was left by a local cop who had taken notice of what they did at night and wanted to let them know how he felt about it
At some time in the evening, well after everyone in their house was asleep, the officer drove to their home and parked outside, where he jotted down his message and stuck it to their front door before taking off. What the WPD Night Shift cop didn't realize was that the man who lived there was a retired police officer, who took what he had to say different than most.
The couple's son told Fox59 that his parents recently replaced their standard porch light with a blue one, as a simple gesture to let the brave men and women in uniform know that they support them. Without thinking much of it, other than it being something small that they could do in a time where there is so much hatred toward these heroes, one specific night shift cop thought a lot more about it than the couple knew, until he left his note.
The note reads:
"Dear Citizen, We see your lights. While you were sleeping, we were keeping an eye on your home and neighborhood. Your support is appreciated now more than ever," the officer wrote, keeping his name anonymous and simply signing it, "Thank you. WPD Night Shift."
The couple was impressed, as was their son, who said that his father is a retired South Bend Police officer who feels for his active comrades as they face especially difficult challenges on the job right now. Although the gesture may seem small, the light bulb meant enough to the cop, who took the time out of his night to tell the couple, thank you; from the bottom of his heart. Seeing that blue glow of support, coming to or from a scary call, gives that added reassurance that they aren't fighting this fight alone and that citizens have their back.
