Concealed carry permit fees waived in response to Orlando shooting...
By Timfly
Sheriff Chad Anderson of Bates County, Missouri wants to make it a little easier for his citizens to obtain a concealed carry permit. In the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, Sheriff Anderson has waived all fees associated with concealed carry permits.
Typically residents of Bates County must pay $100 for their CCW permit, then pay an additional $50 renewal fee every five years. These fees have been waived from now until the end of June.
According to Fox 2 Now of St. Louis, Sheriff Anderson discussed his decision on Facebook,
I will continue to pray for peace for our country and the world. But I will not put blinders on and act like this can not happen here or to people we know and love. I want to say a Big Thank You to the Law Enforcement and First Responders Community for what you are willing to sacrifice for our nation at home. While this will be debated on so many different levels please remember that your local first responders are the ones that will be there ready at a moments notice to handle any of these threats.”
