If You Ever Wondered Why The Letters On The Keyboard Aren't In Alphabetical Order, This Is The Reason.

#1 The Keyboard
We get our keyboards from the first typewriters, where the QWERTY keyboard was introduced by Christopher Latham Sholes

#2 Original Keyboard
This is what the original keyboard looked like on the first typewriter, and it was in alphabetical order.

#3 Dvorak Layout
This was a first attempt at another keyboard layout, called the Dvorak layout.

#4 Sticking Arms
The problem with old typewriters was that if too many of the keys that were too close together, were pressed, the arms would stick, this caused designers to rethink the positioning of the letters, especially the most used letter combinations, "s-h, t-h, e-a, e-io-u"

#5 Randomly repositioned
To prevent sticking, the keys were repositions to this configuation.

#6 QWERTY
And that is how the QWERTY keyboard came into play.

#7 Carried Over
The QWERTY keyboard worked so well, it has remained as our keyboard for our computers and laptops.
