Cows are beautiful animals with a strong maternal instinct. When a mother cow is separated from her calf, she will cry for days.
At The Gentle Barn animal sanctuary, they found out firsthand how strong the maternal instinct is when they rescued a cow named Karma from a backyard butcher. Seeing that Karma was just not settling into her new environment, someone noticed that her udder was flowing with milk – she was missing her recently-birthed calf that the previous “owners” had kept secret.
Thankfully, the calf (named Mr. Rojas) and his mother were reunited in time. Although the calf was nearly incapacitated from the stress, it’s clear that he is delighted to be back with his mother.
