Each Year This River Creates The Most Beautiful Colors Imaginable, You Have To See It To Believe It

This gorgeous river is named Caño Cristales, or “Crystal Spout.” It is found in the Serrania de la Macarena province of Meta in Columbia.

Those who have seen it in person call it the most beautiful river in the world, and you can clearly see why.

It’s sometimes referred to as “The River of Five Colors” or “Rainbow River.”

The breathtaking colors come from Macarenia clavígera, an endemic algae species that grows along the riverbed.

From July to November each year, the algae turns Caño Cristales into a veritable color show.

Interestingly, it has no fish, but the water quality is pristine.

If you want to see it up close for yourself, you have to take a flight out of the city of Villavicencio. There are no roads that lead here.

But the trip is well worth your time, especially with a view like this

How amazing!
