Did you know there is a part if the foot known in Chinese medicine as tai chong, or 太冲 that when pressed can treat all sorts of ailments. Modern practitioners and researchers have coded it either LV3 or LR3 because of its apparent effect on the liver. This one point on the foot has been used for a very long time in traditional Eastern medicine to treat a wide variety of conditions and ailments.
The powerful point on the foot is located between your first and second toes, on either foot, just behind the top knuckle.

By simply applying pressure to this area you can help relieve stress and anxiety.

The exact mechanism is unknown but this is one of the many high-powered effects for which LV3 is known, but even WebMD has information on using the point for this purpose. Studies have shown positive effects on levels of anxiety, depression, and stress.
Pressing this area of the foot also help relieve pain.

This is actually one of the most well-documented uses of acupressure and acupuncture. Because the pressure points are often located on or near major nerve conduits, it’s easy to imagine how this would operate. LV3 has been used for everything from headaches to backaches. Even menstrual cramps are on the list of aches and pains LV3 is believed to remedy.
Having any trouble with digestion? This will help with that too!

When it comes to nausea, vomiting, or plain old indigestion LV3 will help. When your stomach is queasy or feeling off just massage on this pressure point and see if it doesn’t help out.
LV3 is even being looked at as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease.

In a 2014 study by the researchers with the World Health Organization, a study of induced Parkinson’s in mice showed that acupuncture on the LV3 pressure point helped to prevent deterioration of neurons in the brain, specifically the ones associated with dopamine absorption. This deterioration is one of the key effects of Parkinson’s on the body and while further study is needed, it turns out that LV3 might even literally help save lives.
