Here's a heartwarming story about a baby sloth that will make you smile. You know that universal truth in the animal kingdom about a mother's deep love for her young? Well, it hit home recently when a solo baby sloth was found, separated from its mom. So, the cool folks at the Jaguar Rescue Center got a call from Manzanillo National Park in Costa Rica, where this tiny three-finger sloth was discovered, crying on the floor, all by itself.
They swooped in, no medical issues or injuries – baby sloth was in the clear! Now, here's where it gets clever: to reunite the little one with its mom, they recorded its unique cry and played it through a speaker near where they found the baby.
Talk about ingenuity! Guess what? It worked like a charm! After about an hour of playing the recording, a female sloth showed up, responding to the sound. Kudos to the rescuers for this genius plan that led to a beautiful sloth family reunion.

Once the mother sloth climbed down, the rescuers handed the little one off to her. She then took the baby into her arms, no doubt relieved to have her child back, and climbed back up into the tree.
At the end of the video, the mama sloth seems to be smiling, as if grateful for the rescuers for saving her little one.
