Shelter dog goes to ‘jail’ after trashing office, gets bailed out by new forever family

Meet Titan, a spirited male husky residing at the Colbert County Animal Shelter in Alabama. While his recent late-night antics may have caused a bit of trouble for the shelter, they also paved the way for an unforeseen and delightful turn of events.

Shelter Director Corey Speegle recounted to WAFF the tale of Titan's daring escape. Seemingly driven by a mischievous spirit, Titan managed to wiggle the latch on his kennel and ventured into the shelter's front office, leaving a trail of havoc in his wake. You can watch the video here.

"The alarm company reached out, informing us that multiple interior alarms were once again triggered," Speegle revealed to the outlet. "I jokingly suggested it might be a mischievous mouse. Little did I know, it was actually our mischievous husky."

It wasn't until the shelter staff arrived for work on Tuesday morning that they realized the extent of the damage caused. In a Facebook post, it was revealed that the husky had, in fact, thrown an impromptu "party," resulting in the destruction of their computer, files, and paperwork. The aftermath of the husky's revelry left the staff in awe of the unexpected chaos that had unfolded during the night.

Titan also reportedly broke out two of his fellow dogs, though they didn’t make it to the lobby with him. The mess reportedly took a day to clean up and caused a delay in opening.

After causing such a wreck, Titan was placed in “doggy jail” — although the shelter still hoped a forever family would show up to “bail him out.”

The 4-year-old husky had just been surrendered by his previous owner, WAFF reported. Despite his destructive tendencies, he was said to get along well with shelter staff and, they knew he was a sweet dog who deserved a loving home.

“He is such a sweet dog, unless you are paper products,” the shelter joked.

Remarkably, despite Titan’s bad boy behavior, he soon got some great news: he got adopted!

Perhaps it was the notoriety around his “arrest,” but a family with experience with the breed decided to take a chance on this hellraising bad boy.

We hope Titan will be very happy in his new home, and hope he stays out of any more mischief!
