Anxious Rescue Dog Finds Comfort In the Arms Of His Two Best Friends
By FoxIsHere

Numerous dogs experience anxiety problems, particularly those with a history of difficult circumstances. Even after finding caring and nurturing homes, it often takes considerable time for these dogs to adapt.
However, there is a silver lining for one rescue dog as he receives assistance from his two closest companions to overcome his anxiety attacks.

Meet Rex, a 4-year-old mix of English and French Mastiff who found his forever home with Ross, his current owner. Newsweek reports that Ross is the fourth person to provide a loving home for Rex, who had endured a challenging past.
Ross shared with the outlet, "Rex has faced mistreatment in the past from abusive owners. He was on the brink of being euthanized due to what appeared to be aggression, but it turned out to be rooted in fear and anxiety."
Despite making significant progress since his rescue, Rex still grapples with anxiety. Fortunately, he has two loyal companions, Winnie and Huxley, who are always there to lend a paw whenever he experiences an anxiety attack. Ross recently delighted Reddit users by posting a heartwarming video of Winnie and Huxley showering Rex with affectionate love and kisses during one such episode.
People on the site were touched by the video: “Super cute! Rex is lucky to have his friends,” one comment on the subreddit r/AnimalsBeingBros reads. “So sweet.”
Ross told Newsweek that the other two dogs help Rex come out of his shell whenever he’s anxious. He has an especially close bond with Winnie, the white dog in the video, who is deaf and also a rescue.
“Rex was almost immediately calmer with Winnie, because she can’t hear him she isn’t scared when he growls,” the owner told Newsweek. “She just loves him, and he over time is less anxious around her.”

Ross says that he also has his own close bond with Rex, and over their years together he has trained Rex to be less anxious.
“He was my first dog post divorce when I was single, so we kind of helped each other a lot,” Ross said. “I have been rehabilitating him for the past 2 and a half years and he has come a really long way. He’s far less anxious, and way more friendly.”
We all need friends like Winnie and Huxley to help us through the tough times ❤️ So glad this anxious dog has so much love.
