Rest In Peace: Father of two shot dead in front of his children and wife as he picked up food at taco stand
By MarissaRocks

A father of two was shot and killed, right in front of his wife and children after stopping at a taco stand to pick up food in South Los Angeles.
James Vargas was collecting food when strangers confronted him and asked him where he was from.
Before he could answer the 30-year-old was shot as the offenders drove off leaving him to die in front of his family.
“They were getting food at this place right here, and they drove up on him and asked, ‘Where are you from? And then jumped out and smoked him like that, he didn’t have a chance to say nothing, he didn’t have a chance to say nothing,” a witness said, as per Fox11 News.

The restaurant manager was getting food from a taco stand after leaving a family party just after midnight on Sunday when he was approached by a stranger.
The suspects were described by police as two Hispanic males who fled in a green-colored Tahoe, leaving the man to die in front of his wife and two children.
The Vargas family doesn’t understand this senseless violence. They say James lived for his wife and their kids.
“My brother is not the confrontational type or any person to pick a fight over anyone,” said Billy Vargas.

“For someone to just come up to him and ask him ‘where you from’, and then not even give him a chance to answer and just take his life away, it’s really unfair,” added brother-in-law Manuel Rivero.
“They were leaving a family party and came here to grab some food after the party,” said Billy who added his brother was shot in the chest.
“It’s a shame that in 2021 we’re still dealing with gangs and violence,” he told CBSN News.
‘Go out and see your family’
Police and his family said James had no gang affiliation,
A GoFundMe page set up to help pay for the funeral expenses has raised more than $47,000 so far.
Billy hopes this tragedy reminds people of how fragile life can be.
“Forget the phones, forget the social media, go out and see your family. Give them a hug, talk to them, love each other,” he said.
