Three-year-old girl celebrates her final cancer treatment with a parade

For 3-year-old Mabel Franks, going back and forth to the hospital is something she has become accustomed to. The strong Minnesota toddler has been battling cancer since she was 1-years-old.
However, on her final day of chemotherapy her happy family wanted to do something special to celebrate, so they organized a parade – despite the current social distancing rules.
“We just felt we had to do something to let her know how proud we are and what a warrior and survivor she’s been,” Joan Franks, Mabel’s grandmother, said, as per News 13.

To the surprise of little Mabel, fire trucks and decorated cars drove down the Prior Lake cul-de-sac where Mabel lives with her parents Michael and Meagan and her sister Meadow.
Mabel with diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.
Swallowed last pill
“It’s really all she’s known, since she was 14 months old, she’s been going through treatments,” mom Meagan said.
Family watched and cheered as Mabel swallowed her last pill as part of her final chemo treatment.
Her parents had been planning the biggest party to celebrate but due to lockdown restrictions and Mabel’s compromised immune system that wasn’t possible.

“I’m just really grateful, and we’ve had an amazing support system as you can see,” Meagan said as Mabel waved at all the decorated vehicles from her father’s arms. “It’s very emotional.”
Big congrats to little Mabel, the strong fighter. Everyone be sure to wish her a future of joy, health and happiness.
