A man in who contracted the coronavirus has been placed in critical condition after he was misdiagnosed with the flu by doctors, as the NY Post reports.
Mark Frilot’s wife states that her husband is “never, ever sick,” however he started to experience a mild fever on March 6. NOLA.com reports that he was so weak that he was not able to leave his bed.
On March 8, after not recovering, the 45-year-old man traveled to a urgent care clinic, where he was given standard flu test.

Mark was told he had the flu and given Tamiflu, the steroid prednisone and cough syrup with codeine.
When his fever refused to abate, however, he called doctors back and was told not to worry.
He decided to go to the emergency room when his health continued to deteriorate. Once there, the urgent care clinic sent over his paperwork, revealing that he had actually tested negative for the flu.
Heaven Frilot, his wife, said: “I was outraged. How does it happen?”

Doctors gave him a test for COVID-19 which soon came back as positive. Mark is currently being treated in intensive care as he battles both the virus and double pneumonia.
“A lot of people don’t get to this point — their body fights it off,” his wife said. “But not everybody.”
She’s now urging people to stay at home and isolate themselves in a bid to stem the spread of the virus.
Everyone please send yours prayers to Mark Frilot, and everyone else suffering with coronavirus around the world.
