Parents You Have Been Warned — A ‘Baby Shark’ TV Show Is Now Coming to Netflix

Parents, you know it and your kids love it. We’re talking about the phenomenon that is “Baby Shark.” The uber-popular kids song and the animated video which features a baby shark, mommy shark, daddy shark, grandma shark and grandpa shark has taken over the airwaves.

We’re talking making it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart. We’re talking more than 2 billion view on YouTube. We’re talking sequel versions of the song, like a Halloween version and a Christmas version with a Santa shark. We’re talking literally everyone having this song stuck in their head including Josh Groban. And, he doesn’t just have the song stuck in his head; you can hear him sing it too.

Kids really just can’t get enough of “Baby Shark.” Case in point, one little girl who struggles to get Alexa to play the song for her. Alexa couldn’t understand what the little girl was saying, so mom finally had to make the song request. Once “Baby Shark” started playing, the girl was giddy. Her reaction pretty much encompasses the reaction of children around the globe when they hear the song.

If you have a young child in your home, you know what we’re talking about.

Now, there’s even more good news…if you’re a young child, anyway. If you’re a parent, we’re not sure how you’re going to feel about this.

Get ready for more “Baby Shark.” The company behind the song, Seoul Korean-based SmartStudy Co.’s Pinkfong, is getting ready to launch a “Baby Shark” series on Netflix. Yes, you heard that right, a series so that your little tykes can binge watch “Baby Shark.”

SmartStudy’s CFO, Seungkyu Lee, says, “We’ve added the ‘K-pop factor’ into our songs, such as very trendy beats and upbeat rhythms. If you’ve ever heard of ‘Baby Shark,’ you might feel the importance of community. In a group, we should walk or swim together.”

The “Baby Shark” series may release on Netflix in March 2019, but if you can’t wait until then, and if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can let your kids watch “Baby Shark” and other Pinkfong videos right now. There are two seasons with 40 total episodes.

If you have older kids in your home, say in the 5 to 8 age range, SmartStudy has plans to get their attention too. Lee says they want to create content featuring penguins.

We’re sure whatever they create will be just as catchy as “Baby Shark.”

Do your kids like “Baby Shark”?
