Baby Crying In Hospital Room Alone, Then Staff Sees What Her Parents Did
By Michele

Physicians at a Cincinnati Children’s hospital came to check on a 7-month-old child who was being treated there, when they walked in the room and were met with a nightmare of a scene. What began in the bathroom ended tragically in the main room, just one day after checking in.
Wesley Landers, 31, and his 32-year-old wife — whose name has not been released by police, but appears to be Mary Ann Landers on Facebook — traveled from Alabama to Ohio for a scheduled surgery to reconstruct their child’s trachea. They arrived at Cincinnati’s Children Hospital Medical Center with the sick girl and a bag full of other items that would come to light less than 24 hours after arrival.

The child had just received her surgery and was still recovering in her hospital bed, when the parents had more pressing matters than supporting their daughter. WKRC reports that when hospital staff came into the infant’s room, they found the mother on the floor and the father locked in the bathroom.
Mary Ann was dead and of a heroin overdose and staff had to break into the room’s bathroom to get Wesley out, who was unconscious with a heroin syringe still stuck in his arm. They managed to revive him with Narcan, but unfortunately there was no hope for the mom. When staff looked in Wesley’s pocket and scanned the bathroom, they made a disturbing discovery, considering the condition he was in.

At first sight, the parents looked like your typical wholesome couple from the south, not heroin junkies. But their addiction had reached a point far beyond control as they spent their daughter’s recovery hours shooting syringe after syringe of heroin, two of which were found by the sink. In trying to revive Wesley, staff found a loaded pistol in his pocket, WHNT reported.
After bringing Wesley back from his overdose, he was arrested for drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon, and having a weapon under disability. The latter charge came from carrying illegally since he has a prior conviction. The parents, who had asked for prayers and donations on Facebook for their daughter’s out-of-state medical procedure, are now dead and in jail, and their two children are without their mother and father.
It’s sad that they will never get to have a relationship with their mom who chose getting high over being there for them. Hopefully now, they can be placed in a healthy home with loving people who place the needs of these kids, before their own.
