Little Girl Witnesses Black Man Being Made A Target At KFC, Her Strong Actions Go Viral

Racism has unfortunately existed for years and still persists today. But when a racist incident unfolded before little Autumn’s eyes at the White Center, Washington, KFC, her response was incredible. What happened afterward even brought the poor victim of racism to tears.
Eight-year-old Autumn was at KFC with her mother Danee when she overheard a customer’s remark that she couldn’t believe. Behind the restaurant’s counter in the kitchen was a black man hard at work, preparing people’s orders. Out of nowhere, the customer started to throw a fit.
It was because of the cook’s color of skin. The customer shouted that he would not eat anything prepared by the black man. He even insisted that someone else take his order and fix him fresh food, untouched by the black cook.
Danee and Autumn could see from where they stood just how much the customer’s words and behavior hurt him. They couldn’t believe what they had just seen happen. But they knew they could make a difference, Danee declared.
“It just needs to be heard that this is just not tolerable. Somebody was hurting, so what could I do to help that person?”
So Danee reached out to her friend Jana who taught art at a Christian school. Jana spoke with her students about the incident and they decided to create cards for the cook that depicted messages showing their support for him as one of God’s creations. An equal in their eyes.
Jana’s daughter wrote in her card “God loves you” and “I’m sorry that happened.” Then she, Autumn and a couple of other students delivered the handmade cards and small gifts to the cook at the restaurant, along with their moms. This was their first real life incident involving racism that they’d only read about in history books.
The cook was genuinely grateful for the kids’ gesture and that someone did something to help, let alone an entire classroom of Christian students. He was brought to tears.
This incident serves as a lesson that everyone is a child of God, regardless of skin color. What would you have done if you’d seen this situation unfold in front of you?
