Waitress Stunned By Message Trump Supporter Wrote On Her Receipt (Photo)

A Washington, D.C., waitress says her perspective has been reshaped after a group of Trump supporters left her a friendly note on the receipt along with a very generous tip.
Rosalynd Harris is a waitress at Busboys & Poets. She went to work on Jan. 23 and was serving a table of three men who appeared to be from out of town, WUSA reported.
"I could tell they were from the south because they had their cowboy hats on and I was like, 'Oh, you're not from the city,'" Harris told WUSA. "It was an interesting situation because it is a Liberal, Democratic kind of feel to the entire Busboys establishment, the people that come in, the people it attracts."
Harris learned the men came from West Texas. They were in Washington, D.C., for Trump's inauguration.
The men told Harris the restaurant had made an impression on them.
"He just told me he had never experienced that kind of atmosphere before," Harris recalled. "I was just trying to get through the day."
When it came time to clear the table, Harris noticed that one of the men had written a note on the check. The note read: "We may come from different cultures, and we may disagree on certain issues, but if everyone would share their smile and kindness like your beautiful smile, our country will come together as one people, not race, not gender, just American. God bless."
But that's not all. The men left a $450 tip on a $70 bill. Harris was thankful for the money, but also for the lesson.
"We may have different opinions and disagree on different issues, but the fact that he still looked at me as an equal and someone of value, it said something, like OK, not all hope is lost," Harris said. "Never judge a book by its cover and always be open with people to experience something miraculous like that."
Harris said she plans on using the money to pay her bills.
“You automatically assume if someone supports Trump that they have ideas about you but [the customer is] more embracing than even some of my more liberal friends, and there was a real authenticity in our exchange," she told The Washington Post. “This definitely reshaped my perspective. Republican, Democrat, liberal are all subcategories to what we are experiencing. It instills a lot of hope.”
