Homeless Man Finds Strange Note, Shocked To See What Was Hidden With It

There are many homeless people across our country, and some of them are probably living in your town. However, when one homeless man found an odd note left inside his makeshift tent, he couldn’t believe what someone decided to leave along with it.
A woman, who has only been identified as Brandi Vee, knew that her boyfriend John had a big heart. However, she had no idea that a chance encounter with a homeless man in the neighborhood would pique the man’s interest and encouraged him to write the man a note – but it’s what he left along with the small letter that has allowed for this story to go viral.
“There is a homeless man who lives in a little makeshift tent at the very back of the field where we walk our dogs by our complex,” Brandi wrote, according to Love What Matters. “Tonight we were cleaning up our apartment and going through our belongings when my boyfriend suggested we give this ‘neighbor’ of ours a winter care package complete with anything he could use or might need like blankets and some canned, non-perishable food.”
However, once the couple decided to give the man their unwanted items, they couldn’t stop there. “We loaded a backpack with plenty of essentials: food, hygiene items, stuff to eat with and more,” she recalled. “We also filled a giant trash bag with a big comforter blanket, two pillows and a very cozy sweater that we were sure would fit him.” All of these are items that most of us would take for granted, but they are things a homeless person can only dream of having.

She explained that John had wanted to write a letter to the homeless “neighbor” and asked Brandi to write it out for him as he told her what to say. The letter read:
Dear Neighbor,
I know we haven’t met, but we’ve noticed you in the neighborhood. It is getting colder outside so we brought you some stuff that we thought might help and we jus wanted to say welcome to the neighborhood.
From your neighbors,
Brandi, Bri, and John
We hope you and yours have a happy safe holidays.
There aren’t too many people who would donate their items directly to someone in need. Although most of us take many of our things for granted, stories like these remind us that we are all human and we all need help once in awhile.
The next time you think about getting rid of something or selling it for cash, perhaps you can do something kind and donate it to someone in need. Our world could really use some kindhearted people to make a difference, and it’s time we start making a positive impact on others.
