Mother And Son Reunited After 15 Years Thanks To Facebook Picture (Photo)

A California woman and her 18-year-old son were reunited this week after 15 years due to a photo posted on Facebook.
Jonathan was only 3 years old when he was abducted from his mother, Hope Holland.
“His dad was going on vacation and had permission to take him. It was a normal day. I didn't think he was not coming back,” Hope said to ABC 7, according to Daily Mail.
Despite her best efforts, Hope proved unsuccessful in tracking down Jonathan, who grew up in Mexico.
“I was suicidal. I was pretty much done. I had no reason to believe I was finding my son. Ever since I found him, my whole world, my whole outlook and direction changed,” she added.
The breakthrough came when she discovered an old family photo posted by Jonathan on Facebook in January. Holland said that since then, she kept in regular contact with her son until she was able to bring him to California this week.
Holland set up a GoFundMe page to help with Jonathan’s travel costs. She explained her disappointment at the lack of assistance offered by child abduction charities.
“No support, zilch. Zero, including no financial support, no reunification support, but also, reluctance, resistance to giving me the documentation that I needed just to get my son across the border,” Holland said.
But she was delighted when she met her son for the first time Thursday at Tijuana International Airport.
“I'm so happy and it's a miracle and I never thought this would ever come so it’s happy -- extremely happy,” she told 10 News.
Jonathan will spend two months in California, getting to know his mother and Jacob, his older brother. He said he remembers nothing about the abduction.
He intends to return to Mexico to complete high school, but ultimately plans to live in California.
