Photographer Snaps Photos Of Pregnant Mother, She Didn’t Expect Police To Show Up

A photographer in South Carolina set up a photo shoot for a young mother-to-be, who is expecting her first child, said to be a little girl. Halfway through the momentous pictures, the photo session took a surprising turn when a number of police officers showed up and revealed why they were there.
Meghan M. Jacobs is due soon, and before she gives birth to her daughter, she wanted to document this milestone moment with some shots she arranged for J.Ellex Photography to capture. Having decided on the perfect outdoor location, somewhat hidden away from the rest of the world, the day came and the lighting was just right as she posed for the pregnancy shots. However, the photographer knew something was missing moments before Greenville police showed up.

Officer Allen Jacob was a well-decorated army veteran and devoted police officer to the Greenville community, but most importantly, he was Meaghan’s new husband and father-to-be of their baby. He didn’t get to be in the park that day for their first family pictures, and he won’t be at the hospital to welcome his little girl into the world because the hero father was killed by a gang member while in the line of duty during his wife’s pregnancy.

“I was given the honor to capture these photographs for her,” the photographer wrote with a release of a few of the 600 shots captured that afternoon. Meghan bravely stood alone in several of the pictures that paid homage to her incredible husband and the father of her child, until an army of Allen’s brother’s in blue showed up.
Their positioning appeared as a demonstration to show that they have her back. Although Meghan’s daughter won’t see her father face-to-face, she will know him through the example of men and women in law enforcement that will forever be her police family.

These incredible photographs show the sacrifice that each officer makes when they suit up for work, put their badge on, and show up prepared to protect and defend no matter what. There is not enough gratitude shown for the service that left this mother, and countless others like her, without their husbands, fathers, or sons. They took the hard hits so that strangers were safer.
