Son Demands His ‘Scared’ Mom Pull The Car Over, Moments Later She Was In Tears

A Virginia mother and son were driving home after a trip to the DMV when out of nowhere the teen demanded his mother pull the car over after spotting something along the road. Moments later the woman started crying.
It all started when Teresa Adams’ son, Tommy, spotted an elderly gentleman shoveling snow in his driveway.
“Tommy said ‘Mamma stop the car,’” Teresa recalled, according to CBS6. “I got scared and asked ‘what’s wrong?’”
Tommy told his mother, “There’s an older man with a walker shoveling snow – I’ll help him out.”
Teresa’s son, a senior at Nottoway High School, walked over to the man and asked for his shovel, then proceeded to clear out the man’s driveway for him after Tommy said it looked like a plow had built up a pile along the side of the road.
“He looked surprised,” Teresa said. “I was so proud, I started to cry.”
Tommy said the snow was deep, and it took him over 15 minutes to clear it all out. However, he didn’t mind the work, and he was glad he could help the man.
“He was relieved; he looked tired,” Tommy said. “I told him to get back into his car because it was cold. Other people who saw him in the snow should have had the decency to stop.”
The elderly gentleman was grateful as well, and gave Tommy a rather nice compliment after he finished shoveling.
“He said ‘God bless you, the world needs more people like you,’” Tommy recalled.
Teresa snapped a photo of Tommy’s good deed and shared it to the Facebook page of CBS6, where it’s received a ton of attention. But Tommy didn’t do it for attention, he did it just because he has a good heart.
“I try to do good for the elderly because one day I may need help too,” Tommy said.
Indeed, we would all do well to lend a helping hand where it’s needed rather than brush things off as not our problem. The elderly gentleman was right, the world does need more people like Tommy.
